Cash Parking Analysis

POSTED BY kimchoi on Aug 31 under Domaining, Uncategorized

I’ve been doing some Go Daddy Cash Parking anaylsis, and am putting up some websites around some niches that are getting some traffic.  This is not the most effective way to analyze traffic, but it seems to be working for me.

Top WLW Plugins

POSTED BY kimchoi on Aug 29 under Uncategorized

Although Windows Live Writer is not perfect, it is great for quickly posting to several blogs/CMS systems.  I use it with both Wordpress and Drupal.  It works great and saves time.  I’ve even turned non-techie types (you know, the ones that can barely log into Wordpress, much less create a post) on to it, and they love it.

WLW supports plugins, and this is one of the things that I like about it.  Here are a few that I use on a regular basis that make my website posts much richer and interesting.

Give Windows Live Writer a try, I bet you like it.

HostMonster

POSTED BY kimchoi on Aug 27 under Uncategorized

Kimxchoi.com as well as most of my other properties are hosted on HostMonster and I have had nothing but good service and uptime.  I notice that the ips resolve to bluehost, so I don’t know if that is the same company or what, but it just works.  $6.95 per month, practically unlimited everything.  Give it a try!

Pepperjam Network

POSTED BY kimchoi on Aug 24 under Affiliate Programs

Pepperjam Network is making news lately.  From the email:

"The 2008 Inc. 500 list was officially released today and we are proud to announce that Pepperjam ranks as one of the top 100 fastest growing privately-held companies in the United States of America!

Pepperjam’s 2008 Inc. 500 ranking is #70 with three-year revenue growth of 2,447.5%.

An interesting note is that this is Pepperjam’s third consecutive year on Inc. Magazine’s list of fastest growing companies. Also noteworthy is that since these rankings only include revenue growth through 2007, the ranking does not include revenue from Pepperjam Network, which was launched in January 2008 and has been by far our most significant source of revenue growth to date!"

I have some pepperjam links going, but none producing as of yet. If will take them some time to gather the kind of momentum that CJ has.

Earnings Going Up

POSTED BY kimchoi on Aug 11 under Affiliate Programs, Income Report

The sites are well on their way to earning $500 this month.  I am really impressed with the continued growth in effectiveness of various types of advertising.

Although all my payouts are bank transfers, I will figure out someway to post them here that at least looks promising.

I am very excited about moving forward with datafeeds and all the possibilities they have.

Here is hoping.

Transitioning

POSTED BY kimchoi on Aug 5 under Internet Marketing

As many of you know, I am currently transitioning from building sites for customers to building sites for myself.  Since going down this road, it has become more and more apparent that building sites for others is tough.  High expectations, coupled with no help in putting content in is very taxing.

For those of you that did the same thing, how did you make the transition?

Monetize Your Site Monetize Your Site

Income Update

From my network of blogs and Go Daddy’s Cash Parking (yes that is an affilliate link - I practice what I preach), my income has officially gotten over $100 already for July, and should easily hit $300 - $500 in August. Of the over 400 domains I own, only 4 are using any sort of affiliate marketing. I have about 6 others that just need some work, and there is probably about 10 - 20 domains that could be monetized. I hope to bring those online in the next 6 weeks.

Top 10 Foxfire Bookmarks for Web Entrepreneurs

These are the Foxfire add-ons I use regularly. Let me know if you have others!
Since so many computers are wide screen now, I’ve eliminated and
minimized the space that toolbars, icons, and menus take up in web
browsers. All of these add-ons will discreetly add buttons or
informational displays to various parts of Firefox WITHOUT taking up
valuable vertical space. This means less scrolling up and down for momst web sites. Of course, you can always press F11 to go full screen as well.

Oh, and all off these work with Firefox 3.0, the best browser on the market today.

  1. Foxmarks Bookmark Synchronizer - If you want shared bookmarks between computers, such as your laptop and your office PC, this is the best way to go without using another toolbars.
  2. CoLT - CoLt makes if easy to copy hyperlink’s text or both the link and the text to insert in your blog post.
  3. Domain Lookup - Easy domain lookup tool for domainers.
  4. DownThemAll! - Speed up downloads, pause, resume and much more.
  5. Scribefire - Absolutely the best blogger tool add-in for Firefox. Create, edit and delete post within a split screen with great wysiwyg tools. I know it works with Drupal and Wordpress. Probably works with all the major CMSs.
  6. Search Status - Display Google PageRank, Alexa rank, and Compete ranking anywhere in your browser
  7. Secure Login - Login extension for Firefox that works similarly to Opera’s Wand function.
  8. StumbleUpon - Looking for post ideas? How about domain names? StumbleUpon is a great tool to find websites you may not be aware of.
  9. Zemanta - A Firefox plug-in that suggest links, tags, categories and even pictures as you type your posts in Wordpress. It is kinda spooky how it is a Firefox plugin, but yet a Wordpress plugin.
  10. Timelope - “It eats your interwebs!” This Firefox plugin basically gathers your surf history, saves it for later searches and/or shares it with the world (or just your friends). In alpha stage at this writing - expect bugs.
  11. Delicious Bookmarks - Uh, if you don’t know what del.icio.us is, quit reading this blog. This is the best tool for integrating Delicious with Firefox.

11 great Firefox bookmarks. Delete one and make it your Top 10!

Domain Inventory

POSTED BY kimchoi on Jun 12 under Domaining

I’ve raised my domain name inventory to over 400 now. The Cash Parking from Go Daddy is starting to show results, but I have several niches with between 20 and 100 names for each. I plan to go ahead with the niche finding for awhile. I’m thinking that with 1000 or more domains, my inventory will be sufficient for me to find the best privately branded data feeds for affiliate programs. Of course, I could be wrong, but what the hell, domain names are worth money, right?
