Bust a Name - Great Domain Name Choosing Tool

POSTED BY kimchoi on Jun 8 under Uncategorized

Some people call them a domain name spinner, but I really like Bust a Name. Quick and easy way to check for word combinations of possible names, many options. Fast and efficient.
Yes, that is an affiliate link above. Use it to go to Bust a Name and sign up your site today.
One complaint: It is tedious to buy the domain names (I really don’t
care that they get a commission from Go Daddy; I get better pricing
anyway). It needs a way to bulk enter the domain names. Get to work
guys! I have programmers available if you need them.

Progress So Far

POSTED BY kimchoi on Jun 8 under Domaining

I’ve been in domaining mode lately, and I can tell you that I have stumbled across a couple of good niches. I’m only CashParking most of these domains until I sell them or setup a site.

CashParking is bringing in about $25 per month, and it should begin growing even more with time.

Domain count is over 300 now.

POSTED BY kimchoi on Feb 26 under Uncategorized

There are really only 3 basic tricks of optimizing a site for best results in organic ranking. If these are followed …

1) Build the site on the right architecture

2) Get incoming links from relevent sources

3) Change content frequently

4) Link internally

5) Add content with heart and keywords

Ok, its like 5.  Get over it.

Search Engine Algorithms and How They Work

POSTED BY kimchoi on Feb 20 under Uncategorized

Assuming that you understand how site design and programming impact search engine optimization, and you get your client (or your own brain) beyond the realization that submitting your site to search engines, increasing keyword density, and adding meta-tag keywords to your site pages is just pieces of the puzzle, you begin to wonder how search engine algorithms work.

Over at SEOmoz, Randfish has a great post on the subject, and how incoming trusted links, link growth and other issues factor into how the search engines rank your sites.

SEO Frigtards

POSTED BY kimchoi on Feb 10 under SEO

See the SEO Frigtards post over on Lucid Points. I guess he has had enough hearing about keywords and meta-tags. Oh well, at least Yahoo uses them.

The point is, if you are needing to search engine optimize your site or someone else’s to improve organic results, it IS alot more than meta-tags and keywords. And if the company or book is telling you that is where you start, run away. I’ve been very successful getting results on the SERPs without a description or keywords tag. However, the title tag is VERY important. In fact, I have been ranked #1 for search terms that are not even relevant to my site because the term was a part of the title tag. And the term and sites ranked above were not off-the-wall long tail shit either.

Can’t Get Rich

POSTED BY kimchoi on Feb 10 under Internet Marketing

Can’t Get Rich is a hoot - of course the statistics are against making real money on the Internet. Whats really cool is the despair-like attitude, and they probably will make money. There is some real good tips in the posts so far. I most like his guest post on johncow.com (no, that is not a typo).

Switched Theme

Just did not like the first theme enough to keep it.  This one, Greentech from Daily Blog Tips, is a little nicer.  I may try the 2 column one as well.

Wordpress, Drupal and Zen Cart

POSTED BY kimchoi on Feb 5 under Uncategorized

My primary platforms for developing websites are Wordpress, Drupal and Zen Cart.  Each fill a different objective.  I suppose I could add Amazons aStore and eBay to the list, but they are really just extensions.  As I move forward, I will try each of these and report on the results.

Dateless Sniper Theme

POSTED BY kimchoi on Feb 3 under SEO

I decided to go with Dateless Sniper from Courtney Tuttle’s website.  This theme is supposedly optimized for SEO, so we will see.  At any rate, it should do the job until I get a custom theme.
